Custom Bar Ends

As the demand for custom motorcycle bar ends grew companies struggled to meet the requirements. Eye Candy Cycle Designs took the approach of first engineering the bar ends for function on the bikes and then style, keeping in mind that the designs for their bar ends needed to be compatible with other parts that they manufactured. While more expensive to manufacture Eye Candy Cycle Designs decided to keep the manufacturing of the bar ends in the United States and to include the use of stainless steel bolts for the mounting devices.

The Suzuki GSXR 600-750 and the GSXR 1000 require what is called a rubber mounting system. That means that a piece of rubber type of material is expanded inside the handle bars to form a compression fit insuring a tight fit that can withstand the vibrations and remain in place. As well as providing the original Bar End Function of protection. Utilizing a hard rubber with a textured finish, machined to accept a stainless bolt, the rubber piece is assembled to the bar end. A flanged stainless steel nut then finishes the assembly. The customer slides the bar end assembly into the end of the handle bars and by turning the bar end in a clock wise direction the rubber is expanded to a tight, slip free fit.

The Suzuki Hayabusa model requires the 6MM mounting system. To mount this style of Bar End the customer should apply a small amount of Blue LocTite to the stainless steel screw. This prevents the bar end from vibrating loose but allows the part to be removed if required.
